FULL DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a Hand Soldering Specialist II to support electronic component assembly, soldering, touch-up, and rework on printed circuit boards. This role is responsible for hand soldering surface mount and through-hole components, removing soldered components, identifying issues with components or boards, and following quality and process standards. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical dexterity, good visual acuity, reliability, and the ability to work with small electronic components in a detailed production environment.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Hand soldering electronic components on printed circuit boards
- Touching up existing soldering of components
- Removing soldered components from printed circuit boards
- Immediately alerting the supervisor of any issues with components, boards, or processes
- Cleaning or preparing boards and components as needed
- Following instructions, production procedures, and quality standards
- Supporting accurate and detailed electronic assembly work
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area
- Participating in internal and external Quality Management System audits as needed
- Performing other duties as assigned
The selected candidate will also possess:
- Ability to solder, touch up, and rework surface mount and through-hole components to IPC-A-610 standards
- Basic understanding of spoken English
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to identify electronic components through color coding and part numbering
- Ability to read assembly drawings with assistance from a supervisor
- Mechanical dexterity and good visual acuity
- Ability to solder small components with accuracy and consistency
- Prior electronic assembly experience preferred
- Reliable attendance and willingness to learn
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods
- Ability to use hands and fingers for detailed soldering, touch-up, rework, and small component handling
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements throughout the workday
- Ability to visually inspect small electronic components, printed circuit boards, solder joints, and assembly details
- Ability to use soldering equipment, hand tools, and related electronic assembly tools safely and accurately
- Ability to read assembly drawings, component markings, and work instructions as needed
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move standard production materials, components, or tools as needed
- Ability to work in an electronic assembly or production environment while following applicable safety and quality procedures
Salary Range: $18 to $20/hour
