Join our academic glaucoma team in Washington, DC and advance your surgical and teaching career!
The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates (GW MFA) are seeking a full-time, Board Certified Glaucoma Ophthalmologist to join a respected academic ophthalmology program in the heart of Washington, DC. This position offers a rare blend of high-quality clinical practice, advanced glaucoma surgery, and hands-on resident and medical student education. Candidates will have the opportunity to manage complex glaucoma disease, perform cutting-edge procedures, and contribute to training the next generation of ophthalmologists within a collaborative, well-supported environment.

  • Schedule/Hours: 8 am-5 pm
  • Call: Shared
  • Patient Volume: 30-40 patients daily (excluding surgery and admin time)
  • Location: Washington, DC

  • Support Team: Administrative Assistant, Ophthalmic Technician
  • EMR: Epic
  • Academic Teaching Opportunity: Educate and mentor residents and students

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive and glaucoma procedures like Yag Laser, SLT, LPI, Gonioscopy, and cataract surgeries to a diverse patient population
  • Collaborate with physicians, APPs, and support staff with administrative assistance and a technician
  • Document care using Epic

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: Competitive compensation in the $300K-$400K range

Qualifications
  • Board Certified in Ophthalmology
  • Fellowship trained in Glaucoma
  • Required: 5+ years of experience (following completion of training)
  • Experience in academic settings preferred
  • Eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia
  • This position is eligible for H1-B Visa sponsorship
