Position Specific Summary
The Student Coordinator, Programming & Creative Strategy is part of the Student Involvement team in the Division for Student Affairs at GW. This role supports both campus programming and student-facing communications, helping create engaging experiences for the GW community in person and online. The Student Coordinator will support large-scale campus traditions such as First Night x Org Fair, Midnight Breakfast, Buff & Bloom Week, and the Excellence in Student Life Awards, while also contributing to the communications channels that connect students with events, resources, and opportunities across campus. Responsibilities include assisting with event planning and logistics, managing and creating content for the @studentlifeatgw social media accounts, supporting the development and editing of the Student Life Weekly newsletter, creating marketing and promotional materials, and maintaining Student Involvement webpages. The Student Coordinator will collaborate closely with professional staff, student leaders, and campus partners to bring events to life, strengthen digital engagement, and ensure students receive consistent, engaging, and accessible information across communication platforms.
  • Assist with the administrative and creative functions of Student Involvement programs, communications, and special projects.
  • Support the planning, logistics, promotion, and day-of execution of large-scale campus traditions and other Student Involvement events.
  • Support the management of @studentlifeatgw social media channels, including content planning, scheduling, publishing, and monitoring.
  • Create engaging photo, video, graphic, and written content for social media that highlights campus events, student experiences, resources, and opportunities.
  • Assist with the development, editing, and production of the Student Life Weekly newsletter, including gathering submissions, drafting and editing content, and preparing each edition for distribution.
  • Create and adapt marketing and promotional materials for Student Involvement programs, events, and initiatives across digital and print platforms.
  • Assist with content creation, editing, and updates for Student Involvement webpages to ensure information is accurate, current, and accessible.
  • Collaborate with professional staff, student leaders, and campus partners to gather and promote content across Student Involvement communication channels.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as data collection, data entry, organizing content and materials, and supporting assessment efforts.
  • Attend and assist in scheduling meetings and provide additional support for Student Involvement events and initiatives.
  • Complete other duties as assigned based on departmental needs.
Standard Position Description
The student will assist in the management of special projects. Tasks may include: data collection and maintenance, coordinating meetings, organize project files, preform research, communicate with stakeholders and the project team, report updates and outcomes with project leaders, organizing leadership development programs for students, some general supervision of other student staff. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental needs.

Preferred Qualifications
