The George Washington University (GW) Technology Commercialization Office (TCO) oversees all aspects of technology commercialization at GW, which includes evaluating university innovations for commercial potential, pursuing intellectual property protection and licensing. Its primary aim is to connect university researchers with business enterprises, entrepreneurs and unique external resources. 
Position Specific Summary
The GW TCO seeks a student in the life sciences with an interest in business, and learning about processes related to technology transfer and intellectual property (IP) marketing. Life science-related majors will be considered, or graduate students (including MBA students) with a life science degree. 10-15 work hours per week, to be scheduled between 9am-5pm, M-F. Specific Duties: Contribute to the management of IP portfolio, invention disclosure, patent files and database; Perform related research and prepare/update reports for Licensing Managers; Assist with conducting literature searches and obtaining references from Gelman Library or other sources; Conduct routine office duties; Format and organize business reports; Prepare marketing summaries for technologies. 
Standard Position Description

The student will perform administrative and research tasks with some discretion under direction of faculty member or research coordinator. Tasks may include: assisting with experiments, coding, data entry, data cleaning, and data analysis, preparing research and drafts for articles, reports, and/or presentations. Students may also complete literature reviews, draft summaries, and create graphs and figures. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental/faculty needs.

Preferred Qualifications
