POSITION: Grinder
REPORTS TO: Grinding Supervisor
JOB SUMMARY:
The Grinder is responsible for operating machinery to grind and process scrap of PVC pipe, ensuring the material is suitable for recycling or reuse in production.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ability to operate all equipment in the grinding department.
• Ability to work on your own without minimal supervision.
• Must be able to manage time efficiently and complete tasks within a timely manner.
• Work with a safety mindset.
• Keep grinding area neat and clean at all times.
• Identify the different types of products and count monthly inventory.
• Ability to run safely a band saw when cutting pipe.
• Calibrate weight scales when needed.
• Ability to communicate with production staff effectively when needed.
• Any other duties assigned by Supervisor or Production Management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Work with and promote a safety mindset environment
• Ability to read, write and use a calculator when needed
• Be able to follow specific instructions
• Require basic computer skills
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• 2 years of manufacturing experience
• Forklift experience is a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Able to lift or move up to 50 lb. objects
• Ability to work in a noisy environment and focus on work activities safely
• Maybe required to reach or grip with arms and hands
• Work in outside environments hot and cold
