We are seeking an energetic and customer-focused Conference Catering and Café Attendant to support the daily operations of our cafe and provide catering services for meetings, conferences, and special events. The successful candidate will ensure the cafe food and beverage service buffets are well executed, thoughtfully set up, consistently maintained and cleaned up daily. The candidate will also engage and assist with the preparation, setup, and service of all conference catering events. This role is key to creating a welcoming environment for guests and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Conference Catering:

  • Assist in the planning, preparation, and setup of catering for conferences, meetings, and special events.
  • Coordinate food and beverage deliveries to conference rooms, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Set up tables, buffet stations, and serving areas as required for events.
  • Serve food and beverages to guests in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Replenish food and beverage stations during events, maintaining cleanliness and presentation.
  • Assist in the breakdown and cleanup of catering setups after events.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards throughout catering operations.

Café Attendant:

  • Operate the café and dining area, including handling food and beverage preparation, and ensuring the space is clean and well-organized.
  • Stock and replenish café items (buffet, breakfast, lunch, coffee, pastries, snacks, etc.) as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service to cafe patrons, addressing requests and inquiries promptly.
  • Handle cash and card transactions at the cafe register, ensuring accurate payments and balancing at the end of shifts.
  • Maintain a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for customers, ensuring the café is clean and inviting.
  • Monitor cafe inventory levels and work with vendors to order supplies when needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the kitchen, catering, and facilities teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Communicate any guest feedback or special requests to the catering or café manager.
  • Assist in light food preparation as required, under the direction of the culinary team.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and health and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in catering, food service, or hospitality preferred.
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage cafe and catering responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of food handling and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Schedule: Full-time, On-Site

Base salary: $26.00/hour
