Job description

Daikin Comfort Technologies MFG is seeking a professional, skilled individual for our Communications Graphics Manager position at our Waller, Texas location.

The Graphics Manager is responsible for developing, designing and implementing graphic communication strategies for internal and external publication/use. works closely with the Communications Manager, Communications Director and other members of the Communications team to deploy developed collateral materials which convey messages most effectively and aesthetically.

Position Responsibilities may include:

• Creates, oversees/manages art preparation, providing guidance as needed.

• Establishes and implements a work order process through which design consultation can occur, specifications can be collected, and projects can be assigned and prioritized.

• Calculates project cost estimates based on materials and resources required; maintains pricing list or system for recurring or standard projects.

• Ensures finished projects align with customer and project requirements after product leaves department for printing, delivery, and/or distribution.

• Schedules and leads regular departmental meetings to discuss projects and priorities for team members and to address questions or concerns regarding company policies and procedures.

• Maintains departmental equipment and supplies; may research and negotiate with vendors to secure competitive prices on required materials and equipment.

• Maintains portfolio of exemplary work samples.

• Attends design consultation meetings for unusual or large-scale projects.

• Collaborates with internal business partners and outside vendors/ contractors to ensure all expectations are sufficiently met.

• Performs other duties as required.

Nature & Scope:

• Applies advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience

• Manages projects and processes while working independently and with limited supervision

• Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals

• Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex; takes a new perspective on existing solutions

Knowledge & Skills:

• Excellent visual, verbal and written communication skills.

• Must be interpersonal and outgoing.

• Ability to collaborate within a team environment.

• Excellent sense of design.

• Ability to formulate creative ideas and produce collateral pieces under a tight deadline using company standards and guidelines.

• Ability to “switch gears” and reprioritize projects and timelines in order to accommodate more immediate or urgent requests.

• Thorough understanding of layout, typography, color and design.

• Ability to assess costs and quote prices for projects requiring support from outside vendors.

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite as well as Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Understanding of digital/interactive, social and print methods.

Experience:

• 5-7 years in graphic design required.

• Project management preferred

Education/Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
