Position Overview

Cope Equities is seeking a versatile Creative Marketing Specialist to work directly with our Director of Marketing and support the marketing needs of Cope Equities and its affiliated companies, developments and properties.

Graphic design is at the core of this position. The successful candidate will handle a wide variety of creative projects, including brochures, sales materials, signage, digital ads, website graphics, social media content, photo editing, and other marketing collateral.

This person will also manage the day-to-day execution of our organic social media presence, including developing content, creating graphics and video, writing copy, scheduling posts, and maintaining content calendars.

We are looking for a strong designer with professional-level Adobe skills, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator, who can take direction from the Director of Marketing and independently turn ideas and assignments into polished finished work.

Key Responsibilities

Graphic Design & Creative Production

Serve as a primary creative resource for the Director of Marketing and the organization.

Projects may include:

  • Brochures, flyers and sales collateral
  • Corporate profiles and marketing materials
  • Investment and business development materials
  • Property and development marketing materials
  • Signs, banners and large-format graphics
  • Digital advertising and social media graphics
  • Website and email graphics
  • Presentation materials
  • Plat maps, site plans and development graphics
  • Photo editing, retouching and compositing
  • Logos, branding elements and supporting visual assets
  • Print-ready artwork
  • Other creative projects as requested

Translate concepts, existing materials and direction from the Director of Marketing into professional finished designs. Maintain brand consistency, manage revisions, and prepare final files for print and digital use.

Social Media

Independently manage the day-to-day organic social media presence for company and property accounts across platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and X.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain content calendars
  • Identify appropriate topics and content opportunities
  • Create graphics, images and short-form video
  • Write professional and engaging post copy
  • Adapt content for different platforms
  • Schedule and publish posts using Buffer or similar tools
  • Maintain consistent branding and messaging
  • Monitor comments, messages and audience activity as appropriate
  • Review basic engagement and performance data
  • Coordinate with company personnel to gather project updates, photos and other content

Overall strategy and priorities will be coordinated with the Director of Marketing, but the candidate should be capable of managing routine social media execution independently.

Video & Multimedia

Assist the Director of Marketing with video content for social media, advertising, websites, project updates and other marketing needs.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Editing video footage
  • Producing short-form social content and video ads
  • Adding titles, graphics and transitions
  • Creating motion graphics and basic animation
  • Performing color correction, audio adjustment and finishing
  • Preparing videos for multiple platforms and formats
  • Assisting with photography or video capture when needed

Adobe Premiere Pro proficiency is highly valued. After Effects experience is strongly preferred. More advanced video projects may be shared with the Director of Marketing.

Website Content

Maintain and update company and property websites using existing administration and content management tools.

Typical work includes:

  • Updating text, photos and project information
  • Adding or replacing website graphics
  • Maintaining property and company pages
  • Optimizing graphics for web use
  • Performing occasional HTML/CSS edits

This is not a web development position. Most website work will be performed through existing administrative interfaces, with the Director of Marketing handling the majority of programming and development.

Writing & Content Development

Write and edit social media posts, website content, headlines, captions and other short-form marketing copy.

Candidates should have strong grammar, spelling and writing skills and be able to determine whether content is clear, accurate, professional and appropriate for the intended audience.

Creative & Marketing Support

Provide direct creative and marketing support to the Director of Marketing and assist other departments with marketing needs as assigned.

Manage multiple projects and deadlines, maintain organized creative files and help maintain company brand standards and assets.

The goal of this position is to take ownership of a significant portion of the company's day-to-day graphic design, social media and creative production workload.

Required Qualifications

  • Approximately 3-5 years of professional graphic design, creative marketing or comparable experience
  • Strong professional design portfolio
  • Strong proficiency with Adobe Photoshop
  • Strong proficiency with Adobe Illustrator
  • Solid understanding of typography, layout, composition, color, visual hierarchy and branding
  • Ability to design for both print and digital media
  • Experience creating social media and digital content
  • Experience managing or substantially contributing to business social media accounts
  • Strong writing, grammar and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to receive direction and independently execute projects through completion
  • Strong organizational and file-management skills
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, digital media or a related field preferred; an exceptional portfolio and relevant experience may substitute for a degree

Highly Preferred Skills

  • Adobe InDesign
  • Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Adobe After Effects
  • Video editing and production
  • Motion graphics and animation
  • Advanced photo retouching and compositing
  • Social media scheduling platforms such as Buffer
  • Photography and/or videography
  • Experience preparing artwork for professional printing and large-format production
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Experience maintaining websites through a CMS or custom administration system

Additional Nice-to-Have Skills

  • PHP or JavaScript
  • General web development experience
  • SEO fundamentals
  • Google Analytics or other web analytics tools
  • Experience in real estate, development, construction, multifamily housing or investment marketing

What Matters Most

First and foremost, we are looking for a strong graphic designer with excellent creative judgment and professional-level design skills.

The successful candidate should understand the fundamentals of good design and be capable of independently producing polished work across print and digital formats. Strong Photoshop and Illustrator skills are especially important.

We also want someone who can independently manage our organic social media activity, communicate and write professionally, and reliably handle a wide range of creative assignments while working closely with the Director of Marketing.

Video editing, motion graphics, photography and website maintenance skills make a candidate more valuable and versatile.

Programming ability, web development experience and real estate industry knowledge are valuable additions, but they are secondary to strong design ability, creative judgment, communication skills and dependable execution.

AI-assisted graphics tools and platforms such as Canva are not prohibited and may be useful for certain tasks. However, they should complement or support a designer who already has solid design skills and proficiency with professional creative tools, not substitute for those skills.

Portfolio Requirement

A portfolio or examples of professional creative work are required for consideration.

We are particularly interested in examples of:

  • Brochures and print collateral
  • Advertising creative
  • Social media graphics
  • Branding and layout work
  • Photo editing or compositing
  • Website graphics
  • Video editing or motion graphics, if available

Please clearly identify your role in collaborative portfolio projects.
