Job description

TITLE OF POSITION:    Grant & Program Manager

BARGAINING UNIT/SALARY RANGE: MEA Administrators Unit III Range $48,243.01-$62,946.22

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Grant & Program Manager supports Northern Maine Community College’s grant development, administration, and project management efforts in alignment with the college’s strategic plan and mission. Working closely with the Dean of Economic & Workforce Development, this position researches grant opportunities, assists with grant writing and submission, manages grant-funded projects, and ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, regional, and MCCS requirements. Responsibilities include monitoring grant budgets and expenditures, tracking performance measures and deliverables, preparing required reports and audit documentation, and collaborating with administrators, faculty, staff, and external partners to support successful program implementation. This position also supports strategic planning and institutional research by maintaining accurate grant data, evaluating outcomes, and identifying adjustments needed to ensure grant objectives are achieved. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and exercise sound independent judgment with minimal supervision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Bachelor’s degree in related field and 2-4 years’ experience with grant and project management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

The successful candidate must possess strong knowledge of grant and program management principles, preferably within a community college or higher education setting. Demonstrated knowledge of educational environments, school and college cultures, and adult education is preferred. The position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities, and effective group facilitation and problem-solving skills. Candidates must demonstrate proven experience in program management, with sales, outreach, and/or marketing experience considered beneficial. Strong computer proficiency is essential, including experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, electronic communications, and social media platforms; experience with systems such as Anthology, Lumens, and other student information systems is preferred. The ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders while maintaining professionalism, sound judgment, integrity, and confidentiality is required.
