To thrive as a Graduation Intern, you typically need foundational knowledge in your field of study, strong academic performance, and enrollment in a relevant degree program. Familiarity with standard office software, industry-specific tools, or research platforms is often expected. Job description

Overview
WFAA Summer 2022 Internship
The Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association (WFAA)* is recruiting a group of innovative and collaborative individuals to participate in our 11-week summer 2022 internship program. Our internship program seeks to increase and diversify the number of professionals in educational advancement. This program is designed to attract students who may not have previously considered a career in advancement. This is a full time (40hrs/week) paid, hybrid internship that will begin on June 6th, 2022 in Madison, WI.
What is WFAA?
The Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association is a private, nonprofit corporation that encourages individuals and organizations to make gifts to the university and to connect with the UW. In 2014, the UW Foundation merged with the Wisconsin Alumni Associationยฎ to better serve a growing population of UW alumni and donors. We believe that private support grows out of good relationships between campus leaders, faculty and program staff who need support, and the alumni and friends who want to invest in UW-Madison. We provide important engagement opportunities to link UW-Madison alumni to each other and to their alma mater, building a strong community of Badgers.
Internship Program:
During your time at WFAA, you'll be doing work that will heavily impact our organization. You'll be exposed to multiple functions of advancement and experience working in a professional setting. While interns are assigned to specific areas, you will work on projects together, meet throughout the week for activities, and be exposed to areas at WFAA outside of your assigned position. This is an opportunity to preview a career in advancement and see if it aligns with your interests for post-graduation!
Responsibilities
Available internships may include the following*:
  • Alumni Relations and Engagement
  • Marketing Communications/Graphic Design
  • Videography
  • Development
  • Administration
  • Human Resources

*You may be considered for more than one position.
What's in it for You?
  • Paid internship with hybrid structure.
  • Exposure to many different departments and careers.
  • Opportunity to continue with WFAA post-graduation.
  • Work for an organization that directly affects UW-Madison.
  • Experienced mentors and senior-level leadership exposure.
  • Opportunities to develop professionally through training programs and applications.
  • Social gatherings, boat ride on the beautiful Lake Mendota, and Badger merch!
  • Learn a lot and have a lot of fun!

Qualifications
If you say "Me!" to these things, you should apply:
  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary degree program.
  • Commit to a June 6, 2022 - August 19, 2022 internship timeframe
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer internship
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to building and supporting an inclusive work environment.
  • An empowered collaborator - you contribute ideas and initiative to your work with minimal supervision, and actively interact with team members.
