Test Engineer

Level/Grade:E3

General Profile:Responsible for design, Development and implementation of complex test systems to support Semiconductor equipment manufacturing. Expertise in systems thinking and problem-solving are essential. Must be able to collaborate within cross-functional teams to develop advanced solutions and develop test hardware per technical specification. Responsible for analyzing test requirements, defining system architectures, and ensuring seamless integration of subsystems into the manufacturing process.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with MFG Test Engineering and management to understand sub system requirements. Interfaces with other test engineers and BU customers to coordinate the deployment of new test fixtures. Drives new test fixture designs and implement as necessary. Documents and tracks deployment issues to closure and initiates appropriate engineering change request as required. Drives applicable manufacturing engineering deliverables.
  • Conduct detailed engineering analysis of sub systems using vast knowledge of design concepts and functional requirements in field of technical expertise and broaden into other disciplines.
  • Assist in creating concepts for architectural design approaches. Evaluate architectures to provide recommendation for best system solution approach
  • Build and qualify prototypes of new designs, or procure entire subsystems from outsourced suppliers and test for compliance with detailed specifications
  • Identify and troubleshoot a variety of difficult engineering problems in field of technical expertise, including serviceability.
  • Perform and coordinate tests against internal and industry-accepted reliability specifications. Make suitable design or operational changes as required.
  • Support Test engineering projects that have a substantial mix of electrical, mechanical, algorithms and software design, and understand the underlying system implications.
  • Provide remote and onsite support to field support personnel as required.
  • Provide Test Fixture sustaining support for deployed fixtures to ensure minimal down time and customer impact. Tracks metrics and report out performance as required.
  • Estimates test fixture manufacturing cost, determines scheduling requirements and makes recommendations for new fixture designs. Leads team in the use of DFx principles to reduce costs and improve delivered quality.
  • Determines root cause and corrective action analysis for issues that arise during design and deployment of test fixtures and provides failure analysis report as required. Drives corrective actions if necessary.
  • May coordinate outsourcing activities with external test fixture suppliers.

  • Familiarity with robotics and or electronic controls and logic.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
