Job description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced .NET Application Developer to design, develop, and maintain console-based applications that integrate with databases supporting DIS web applications. This position supports a federal government client and is full-time, on-site in Charleston, SC. The role involves significant data engineering and ETL work, ensuring accurate and efficient data flows between systems, particularly across compensation and talent management systems. The developer will manage full life cycle development, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance, while building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders. Responsibilities Develop and maintain console applications for database integrations.
Build and maintain interfaces between compensation and talent management systems, ensuring data integrity and seamless integration.
Perform data engineering tasks, including ETL processes and data transformations.
Participate in the full software development life cycle using Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid methodologies.
Optimize SQL databases, including developing stored procedures and queries for application integration.
Evaluate emerging technologies and implement innovative solutions.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders and maintain strong customer relationships.
Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in application development and data engineering.
Required Skills Proficiency in Visual Studio.NET (VS2012 or higher), .NET Framework (4.5 or higher), C#, and SQL.
Strong understanding of data engineering principles, ETL processes, and relational database concepts.
Ability to translate user requirements into robust, scalable solutions.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with customers and stakeholders.
Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) is a plus.
Nice to have: experience with web development, Python, and Git (relevant for future initiatives).
Demonstrates qualities such as customer focus, innovation, and flexibility. Security Clearance Secret clearance to start. Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance, if needed.
