Turo is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Procurement to lead the procurement function. The ideal candidate will excel in contract negotiations, drive cost savings, and enhance procurement processes while maintaining strong relationships with business units and external partners.
What you will do

  • Lead complex negotiations with service providers to achieve optimal pricing, terms, and conditions.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure all contracts meet regulatory and corporate standards.
  • Develop strategies to optimize procurement spend and improve financial outcomes.
  • Leverage market insights and benchmarking to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Assist the Finance team during the annual budget process, providing contract details and pricing models to set accurate spending budgets.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and priorities. Guide supplier selection, ensuring vendors align with operational and strategic objectives.
  • Align procurement strategies with company goals and service requirements.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best procurement practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to drive performance and innovation.
  • Enhance procurement policies, workflows, and systems to increase efficiency and compliance.
Your profile
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience, with at least 7 years in Procurement/strategic sourcing and 5+ years in contract negotiations.
  • Expert-level procurement skills across the entire source-to-pay process, including supplier identification, qualification, negotiation and contract development.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to model costs and assess commercial proposals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering significant savings through contract negotiation, demand management, and cost-effective alternatives.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with procurement technologies and digital transformation is a plus.
For this role, the target base salary range in Arizona is $160,000-$200,000 annually. This role is also eligible for bonus, equity and the benefits described below. In general, our ranges reflect the market-based target for new hire salaries based on the level and location of the role. Within the range, individual pay is determined by objective factors assessed during the application and interview process, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
