POSITION EXPECTATION


Position Summary  
The Corporate/Overnight Security provides access control and safety security services at Goodwill through enforcement of company policies and procedures. Provides first line review and monitoring for all potential security events and may act as a reliever for the corporate reception area.

Responsibilities 

  • Acts as Primary Point of Contact for AlarmCo and Alarm/Burglary Activations.  
  • Initiates proper notification to individuals on the Emergency Contact List relating to emergency events occurring on the corporate/overnight shift, including active burglary, fire, flooding, power failure. Has the ability to respond accordingly as the Goodwill first responder and POC on scene.    
  • Checks all security cameras for proper operations and reports discrepancies to AP Management.    
  • Documents all events/incidents in the security entry log.   
  • Conducts live video surveillance of all Goodwill store/building locations and assists with investigations.    
  • Assists with the reconciling of Security Sales Force Event Reports.  
  • Assists with Video Coverage Investigation Reviews.   
  • Participates in crisis management conflict resolution events between team members, customers, clients, vendors, and contractors to eliminate confrontations and altercations.    
  • Identifies and communicates all incidents of access violations and theft to Asset Protection Management.    
  • Checks all DW ACS, Axis, Avigilon Security Systems cameras for proper operation and reports discrepancies to AP Management.    
  • Ensures hourly patrol of Central Warehouse or at the corporate building. 
  • Assists corporate front desk receptionist with visitor assistance, telephone calls, and provides necessary breaks for the receptionist.    
  • Assists with other duties as assigned. Assists the investigators as needed.    
  • Initiates with the APAM the final inquiry or disposition of Lost and Found property to locate and return property to owner, donate salvageable consumables for resale, or shred, destroy, or recycle products.   
  • Assists in any other projects or tasks as determined by management.

Environmental Factors 

  • Ninety percent of duties will be performed in an office environment with regulated temperatures.
  • Ten percent of duties will be conducted at the Retail Stores, Clearance Center, Warehouse, or other assigned Goodwill locations where no cooling or heating will be available. Exposure to extreme heat, cold, dust and humidity may be a possibility.

Physical Factors

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to tolerate prolonged standing, walking, reaching, stooping, lifting, pulling, carrying, sitting at a desk, and working on a computer. 

Education, Experience, and Requirements
Required

  • Approachable and friendly demeanor when greeting the public and answering incoming phone calls.   
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software, including a strong emphasis on Word and Excel.    
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication skills.  
  • Exhibits a high level of integrity and business ethics.  
  • Exhibits a high level of adaptability and flexibility.  
  • Must be CPR & First Aid Certified.
