SUMMARY

The Retail Store Worker represents Goodwill at the Goodwill retail stores by processing sales transactions and providing customer service. A Retail Store Worker is responsible for inspecting/sorting donations and using assigned standards to determine outcome of merchandise. A Retail Store Worker’s duties include cashiering, replenishment of stock, providing donation receipts, organization of donated goods, loading/unloading the truck, and custodial services for the premises and other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Use the cash register to complete sales and follow all company rules for handling money.
  • Follow all steps for opening, using, and closing the register, including keeping it locked when not in use.
  • Greet every customer, help them with questions, and tell them about sales or promotions.
  • Watch for shoplifting or damage in the store and let a manager know if you see anything suspicious.
  • Keep shelves neat and stocked, and help with rotating items based on color or date.
  • Help with cleaning and other tasks around the store as assigned.
