Job description

Bethesda Country Club is hiring a Golf Starter. This position will assist in managing the daily play and provide the membership with an exceptional experience by operating the first tee in a professional and efficient manner. Proactively assist members in finding other members to play with to help ensure a sense of community at the club. This is a great opportunity to be a part of an organization that believes our team members are our most important resource and therefore take great pride in selecting individuals who help us to achieve our Club's mission.

Essential Functions:

  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of the facility and the Golf Operations Department.
  • Assist the Head Golf Professional and other Golf Professionals in facilitating daily play.
  • Enter and update all play into the first tee software to accurately reflect actual play.
  • Ensure all members and guests are billed properly through the first tee software.
  • Notify all groups about the importance of all golf course care practices.
  • Instruct the members of the rules for the day of the course.
  • Monitor the pace of play via the visage system and address pace of play issues with members in a professional and tactful manner.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned by the Head Golf Professional and/or General Manager.

Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent, required
  • Previous golf experience, or golf course employment a plus
