Job description

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Joint Venture (JV) Operations & Strategy Manager (Credit Product Portfolio Senior Manager.)

The Joint Venture (JV) Operations & Strategy Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial, operational, and strategic functions of a complex JV partnership. This role ensures seamless collaboration between JV stakeholders and the parent company, including executive-level reporting, financial forecasting, onboarding, and ongoing portfolio management. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills with a deep understanding of financial operations in a joint venture environment.

Board Management:

  • Manage executive-level communications, including coordination and organization of quarterly Board meetings and ad-hoc meetings as needed.
  • Prepare and present Board materials that communicate JV performance, highlight key issues, and propose actionable resolutions.

Finance & Forecasting:

  • Oversee all accounting-related functions and provide strategic guidance on audit and tax activities related to the JV structure.
  • Lead the development and communication of monthly financial forecasts in alignment with Polaris corporate planning.
  • Develop and present the Long-Range Plan (LRP) forecast, ensuring alignment with strategic growth objectives.
  • Manage pricing strategies, including monthly pricing outlooks and biannual re-setting of rates.

Onboarding & Pipeline Oversight:

  • Provide strategic oversight on new deal onboarding and guide resolution of escalated transactions.
  • Review the weekly deal pipeline and collaborate with Polaris to address at-risk dealer relationships.
  • Participate in "watchlist" dealer calls to advise Polaris on potential notification or corrective actions.

Portfolio & Operations Management:

  • Ensure accurate rates, terms, and operational processes in alignment with OEM and dealer pricing structures.
  • Partner with the Portfolio Manager to manage held orders, pre-sold units, and credit line utilization.
  • Maintain strong internal controls to monitor for issues such as duplicate serial numbers, delayed shipments, or escalation triggers.

Global Relationship Support:

  • Support global JV relationship activities and coordination, as needed.
  • Maintain and update the global repurchase cap in partnership with Underwriting (U/W).
  • Assist U/W with annual Polaris reviews and internal risk management processes (IRM).


In this role, you will:

  • Determine appropriate strategy and actions of functional area to meet to high-risk deliverables; interpret and develop policies and procedures for function with moderate complexity within scope of responsibility
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy in building and maintaining effective relationships with existing clients within their product(s) or functional area, including sharing relevant information with coverage team partners
  • Lead the team to review and analyze moderate to highly complex and strategic client portfolios for key issues related to cash flow, liquidity, leverage, working capital, debt coverage, collateral/enterprise value analysis, and repayment sources, including for use in periodic reviews as well as interim underwriting memoranda
  • Interact directly with external clients within the context of individual deals and client relationships and develop a team to anticipate and understand clients' businesses, strategic objectives, operational priorities, and financial positions to identify opportunities for modifications, renewals, and refinancings
  • Manage a team of individuals and provide leadership for moderate to highly complex modifications, renewals, and refinancings, including assessing a client's financial position and risk level for both prospective clients and existing clients
  • Collaborate with and influence all levels of professionals, including senior managers to lead the strategy and resolution of moderate to highly complex scenarios and unique challenges by synthesizing industry and economic trends, including legal and regulatory issues, in addition to regular portfolio reviews to manage risk and lead problem loan resolutions, where applicable
  • Ensure the initial set up and management of the portfolio adheres to all applicable credit policies or compliance requirements and prepare for periodic exams by internal and external auditors
  • Partner with product management functional partners to provide vision, leadership, and industry expertise on evolving market needs, leading to the development of significant cross-functional process improvement and risk control development
  • Provide leadership and expertise on multi-faceted issues to multiple levels of management and lead a team to implement significant solutions, new product initiatives, and influence financial operations
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives for area of responsibility


Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of secured and/or specialized lending relationship management or portfolio management or leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 3+ years of management or leadership experience


Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and work collaboratively with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with forecasting, audit, tax, and compliance within a corporate finance function.
  • Knowledge of OEM/dealer networks is a plus.

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

Salary is just one component of Wells Fargo's total rewards package. Depending on the role, a Wells Fargo's employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

$175,000.00 - $279,000.00
