The Director, Global Investigations Services, will be a key member of our Compliance & Ethics team, responsible for designing, implementing, and continually improving our global investigation program.

The Director, Global Investigations Services, will report to the VP, Investigations and will partner closely with all brands and subsidiaries globally to drive effective compliance investigations across the business.

In this role you will get to

Work with the VP, Investigations, to identify and design strategic priorities for the investigation program and work with all brands and subsidiaries globally to implement the priorities and investigations program effectively. Complex stakeholder management skills needed to align and implement across brands and functions.

Drive continuous improvement of the investigation program, the management of the investigation docket, and ways of working with key stakeholders across brands globally, including oversee concern‑raising hotline, including intake, triage, and assignment of all concerns with the ultimate goal of continuously improving the speak‑up culture review, design, and lead improved ways of working with other functions (HR, Security, Legal, etc.).

Monitor the effectiveness of our investigation program in detecting, and responding to potential violations of law, regulations, and internal policies and controls and be responsible for needed and effective responses, including engagement with law enforcement when needed; continuously improve and maintain the investigation program consistent with published guidance on effective investigations; and maintain comprehensive and up‑to‑date knowledge and understanding of the legal and regulatory requirements and developments relating to investigations across diverse jurisdictions.

Lead day‑to‑day management of global investigation docket, including oversight of concerns from triage and case assignment to case closure and review of investigation reports to ensure quality and consistency; mentor and advise investigators located across BKNG globally; Engage with senior business leaders and Legal, HR, and other stakeholders in connection with investigation progress, outcomes, and trend reporting, including with executive leadership.

Leverage technology to enhance investigation program effectiveness. Play a critical role in defining key investigation metrics and developing and deploying processes, systems, and tools to monitor, measure, and report on investigation outcomes and trends; ensure meaningful and consistent reporting of investigation metrics; drive data analysis to support improved risk assessment by compliance teams.

Work across brands and with diverse stakeholders to ensure proportionate and consistent discipline, appropriate remediation, and root cause analysis in the wake of investigations.

Develop investigation program presentations, dashboards, reports, and other materials for senior management, business leaders, and other relevant stakeholders.

Lead, manage, and partake in other strategic initiatives and special projects as needed.

What you have
  • JD or equivalent required
  • Experience investigating complex compliance concerns in a matrixed and cross‑jurisdictional environment
  • Experience designing and implementing company‑wide investigation best‑practices, including relating to intake of concerns, communications with concern raisers, conducting interviews, and drafting investigation reports that can withstand internal and external scrutiny
  • Experience supporting diverse and global team
  • Proven experience driving investigation excellence with large scale global programs
  • Experience working on a global team, capable of delegation, team building, and strategic leadership, driving alignment and consensus
  • Display highest levels of integrity
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with excellent presentations skills and demonstrated ability to be clear and concise when communicating with global stakeholders
  • Proven success communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels globally

The base salary range for Connecticut and the NYC‑metro area is $212,400-$259,600.
