Global logistics is the common term for the practice of processing goods from initial production through their distribution to customers, including sourcing the raw materials required for the production process. In this role, you may manage international shipments along a supply chain, ensure each facility has everything it needs to continue its operations, and otherwise provide management and oversight of logistical needs. Global logistics managers help ensure cost-effective purchasing schedules, resolve problems with shipments, give reports to executives, and help prepare supply chains for future needs and company growth. This job title focuses on managing international logistics chains and should not be confused with logistics jobs that only obtain international products from local providers.
