Job description

Global Logistics Coordinator

We are seeking a detail-oriented Global Logistics Coordinator to support the planning, execution, and compliance with domestic and international shipments. This role is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound logistics while ensuring shipments meet safety, regulatory, cost, and delivery requirements.

The ideal candidate has strong import/export knowledge, experience working with freight forwarders and customs brokers, excellent communication skills, and the ability to solve problems in a fast-paced environment.

Temp to Direct Hire after 3-6months Position:$40/Hr

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, schedule, and track inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments.
  • Prepare, review, and audit customs documentation and shipping paperwork for accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate activities with freight forwarders, customs brokers, trucking companies, and other logistics partners.
  • Monitor shipments from origin through final delivery and proactively communicate shipment status.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Operations, Customer Service, and other internal teams to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Troubleshoot transportation delays, customs issues, and shipping discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable import/export regulations, customs requirements, and internal company policies.
  • Assist with shipping documentation for international, oversized, and hazardous material (HAZMAT) shipments when applicable.
  • Evaluate carrier performance and identify opportunities to improve transportation costs, service levels, and operational efficiency.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with logistics providers and service partners.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to shipping, transportation, and supply chain operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience coordinating domestic and international logistics.
  • Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and international carriers.
  • Strong knowledge of import/export regulations and customs documentation.
  • Experience with international shipping documentation and transportation compliance.
  • Experience coordinating HAZMAT and oversized shipments is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and logistics processes.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; ERP or transportation management system (TMS) experience is a plus.
