Job description

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detailed-oriented CSR/Dispatcher with experience handling appointments at the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. The ideal candidate understands port operations, container holds, and how to prevent demurrage and per diem charges.


Responsibilities:

- Schedule and manage appointments at the Ports of LA/LB

- Check port and terminal availability and secure appointment slots

- Monitor and check all container holds (customs, steamship line, terminal, agriculture, etc.)

- Ensure containers are picked up and returned timely to avoid demurrage and per diem charges

- Track last free days (LFD) and coordinate timely turn-in of empty containers

- Communicate updates, confirmations, delays, and issues to customers via email and phone

- Coordinate with drivers and internal dispatch team

- Track shipments and ensure on-time pickups and deliveries

- Maintain accurate records in dispatch and tracking systems

- Familiarity with Emodal and other port appointment systems
