Purdue Global Adjunct Faculty, School of Nursing (Perry, IA): ASN with OB Experience

Job Description:
Our Opportunity:
The School of Nursing has an opening for Adjunct Faculty in the ASN program. Purdue
University Global offers term by term, non-tenured teaching appointments to qualified
individuals who are dedicated to providing quality educational experiences to students in
Associates, Bachelors and Masters degree programs. This position offers an excellent
opportunity for individuals to work in a professional learning community wherein faculty
contribute to and engage in instructional best practice for adult learners in an innovative,
nontraditional university setting.
Job Summary:
Adjunct faculty have part-time teaching roles. Adjunct faculty can teach up to 2 courses per
term, not to exceed 10 courses per year. This role participates in continuing professional
development and may also engage in faculty governance and curriculum work as needed.
Additional service activities may be assigned to Adjunct faculty. Scholarship is not required.
Teaching assignments for Adjunct faculty may fluctuate and are contingent upon the schedule
of courses. Adjunct faculty deliver high-quality instruction and foster an inclusive and supportive
learning environment conducive to student success.
The mission of the on ground, part-time adjunct Nursing Instructor, regardless of the curriculum,
is to provide the student(s), our customer(s), with the skills and knowledge necessary to obtain
entry-level employment in the field of their chosen program of study. To accomplish this
mission, all instructors will utilize their talents, skills, and abilities in a coordinated and consistent
team effort under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Education/ Dean/ Program
Head, or his or her designee.
Successful candidates in this role will reside in the Perry, IA area or within a commutable
distance.

What to expect in this role:
• Provide an engaging learning environment by hands-on activities and with open and timely communication
• Provide students with appropriate guidance regarding academic excellence
• Partner with advisors and leadership on student concerns, resolution, retention, and outcomes.
• Remain current with trends, techniques, and technology.
• Maintenance of a professional development plan.
• Additional duties as may be assigned by the School.
Experience:
BSN required; MSN preferred
Active, unencumbered state RN licensure with 2 years of clinical experience
OB/Women's Health experience required
Higher education teaching experience is preferred.

  • Adjunct compensation varies per course based on student enrollment, program type and also includes a contribution to a retirement account. A typical adjunct in the School of Nursing can expect to receive $3300 per full 10-week course. Retirement account benefits include an automatic 403(b) company contribution of 3% and a company match up to an additional 4% with participation in an optional 457(b) plan.
