Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

This position reports directly to the Vice President of Global Events and is responsible for driving strategic revenue growth for The Trade Group within the event production sector, with a dedicated focus on conference managers.

This role requires a strong understanding of event production and experiential marketing industries. The ideal candidate brings a strategic, growth-oriented mindset and understands how all components of event execution come together to deliver value for clients and generate profitable growth for the organization. 

This individual will be accountable for identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities, while maintaining a robust and forward-looking sales pipeline. They must be highly effective in persuasion, presentation, and consultative selling, and able to confidently represent The Trade Group across a wide range of client interactions. 

The role demands the ability to handle client objections with confidence and ease, engage senior stakeholders, and proactively pursue new opportunities in both planned and unplanned settings. Success in this position requires a polished communicator who can approach new business development strategically, build trust quickly, and drive long-term growth across the global event market.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·         Assist customers with growing their businesses through full-service event design and production solutions.

·         This person must initiate phone calls to potential client base and implement new sales strategies.

·         Leverage content experts, account management, operations, and other resources for true team-selling.

·         Uncover, pursue, and penetrate potential market segments using lead generation programs.

·         Ensure the content of presentations and proposals are aligned with The Trade Group solutions.

·         Work closely with prospects to understand their business objectives and take a consultative approach to selling.

·         Conduct research to identify high-value targets

·         Identify and analyze competitors’ business

·         Maintain positive customer relations at all times

·         Attend industry events

·         Ensure client satisfaction as related to large scale projects

·         Prioritize problems areas that hinder internal and external client communications.

·         Will be expected to understand the capabilities, services, and unique selling points of The Trade Group.

·         Expected to conduct meetings with Global Events Operations Team and other departments as needed.

·         Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

·         Bachelor’s degree.

·         5 – 10 years successful business-to business consultative sales experience, primarily in Events Production (conferences, brand activations, etc.). Background in event production and services is a plus. 

·         5 – 10 years’ experience in penetrating existing accounts and establishing profitable new accounts.

·         The position requires good, basic, clerical and administrative skills with emphasis on verbal and written communication skills (in English), good common sense; positive attitude; willingness to take initiative; and ability to maintain confidentiality.

·         Multi-lingual is a plus.

·         Must be detail oriented and know the importance of documenting discussions held with customers and prospects.

·         Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills; engaging communicator.

·         Must possess strong project management skills, ensuring the entire sales process is carried out to on-time delivery.

·         Ability to work accurately and quickly under company deadlines.

·         Cooperative, courteous, flexible and good natured.

·         Conscientious, persistent, resourceful, productive and active.

·         Must have the ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships and deal with employees in an efficient and professional manner.

·         Broadcast or livestreaming experience a plus

·         Must have reliable transportation.

·         Must have attention to detail and accuracy.

·         Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks and commitment to meeting and exceeding deadlines and goals.

·         Valid driver’s license.
