JOB SUMMARY

The Director, B2B Events + Experiences supports Global B2B Events and Experiences that deliver commercial performance value across the enterprise. This role will help plan and lead priority strategies andinitiatives as needed in partnership with the Sr. Director, Global Events + Experiences, with a focus on achievingprojectgoalsontimeandwithin budget and drive enterprise KPIs. This includes the development of processes to support team goals and desired outcomes. The role also engages with internal and external partners to build relationships, understand needs and goals, provide education and information, and prepare communication materials for the deployment of initiatives across the organization.

The Director, B2B Events + Experiences, is responsible for managing the strategy and execution of GSO customer and industry events; this includes but is not limited to; industry tradeshows, internal customer events, and customer advisory boards. They lead the direction of customer engagement efforts and work with their global colleagues to streamline efforts, gain efficiencies, and drive desired results. They are responsible for managing the individual budgets for all events, and ensuring all relevant processes and policies are appropriately implemented and followed.

Additionally, the role will support B2B Events + Experiences execution, key priorities, ad hoc projects, and on specific aspects as needed and directed by the Sr. Director, B2B Events + Experiences. In close collaboration with the Sr. Director, Global Events + Experiences, GSO leadership team, continent leadership, this role shapes content, messaging and engagement strategies that support B2B growth objectives to support enterprise KPIs.

CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience Preferred
  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, or related
  • 8 years of relevant professional experience in meetings + events or related function, demonstrating progressive career growth and pattern of exceptional performance.
  • Proven track record consulting to business leaders and designing, developing, and implementing solutions in large, complex organizations, using a variety of delivery methodologies.
  • Prior experience leading the planning and execution of strategic projects and initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience in working with and influencing cross-functional work teams in a matrix organization.
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
  • Demonstrated project management skills are essential.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
  • Collaborate on strategy, processes and programs that are aligned with the global B2B events vision including setting objectives, initiatives, processes, and standards leveraging data to drive key metrics and ensuring evaluation of dollars spent.
  • Serves as an expert on the global B2B event's team. Maintains a close working relationship with the other regional teams to align business needs and objectives.
  • Manage and create an annual B2B events calendar that incorporates all B2B event & marketing activities.
  • Participate in creating a global sponsorship strategy leveraging data to drive key metrics and ensuring evaluation of dollars spent
  • Leverage customer research and direct client engagement to inform B2B offerings and revenue growth
  • Works with the GSO sales segment leads (group, retail travel, consortia, etc.) to understand the client needs and designs relevant B2B messaging strategies and platforms that are culturally relevant.
  • Drive continuous improvement of team structures, process, and leadership accountability in partnership with the Sr. Director, Global B2B Events + Experiences
  • Collaborate across the enterprise with various stakeholders to ensure brand and communication alignment.
  • Research data and interface with clients to develop a firm understanding of the client's needs and develop connections to B2B offerings and revenue growth.
  • Keep internal stakeholders informed and participate regarding trends, events and customer engagement opportunities.
  • Manager budgets for B2B events or marketing activities.
  • Performs other reasonable duties as required for the position.
  • Travel is required.
