The Opportunity:

In Abbott's Electrophysiology (EP) business, we're advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

This role is responsible for executing both Abbott field representative and customer training activities surrounding commercial launch for new Abbott EP and SH products, beginning with integrated intracardiac echocardiography.

The Global Launch Education Specialist will deliver exceptional technical and clinical support for Abbott's intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) technology and have a thorough understanding of the customer, their needs and the evolving competitive landscape to ensure training is effective in supporting our new EP and SH solutions. This role is instrumental in the successful product launch of a new technology across all geographies, with particular focus on the US and Japan. This self-starter will be critical in evaluating the training implementation and effectiveness then adapting for success in each geography and across future product development.

What You'll Do:

  • Cultivate a deep understanding of the clinical workflow applications for Abbott solutions in EP and SH procedures; regarded as a clinical subject matter expert, specifically in echocardiography
  • Maintain deep clinical knowledge of cardiac anatomy, electrophysiology, and Intracardiac Echo technology, as well as other imaging modalities like TEE and TTE.
  • Develop a robust training curriculum to upskill new and tenured ICE and echo specialists within the commercial field teams
  • Build trusted and strategic relationships with global physician partners: identifying partnering opportunities and joint projects for echocardiography product training
  • Engage the global commercial organization and education teams through frequent visits to understand and assess potential opportunities within the training curriculum to meet locally changing competitive and clinical environments
  • Oversee the process to ensure training materials, workflows, and delivery strategies are updated and relevant to the needs of our internal and external customers through collaboration with Product Marketing, R&D, Clinical, and Education peers
  • Support implementation of training programs in the market to support building of new product knowledge (ex. Integrated ICE, TEE, LAA closure)
  • Innovative participation in planning immersive learning activities for new product launches (webinars, podcasts, simulation technologies, etc.)
  • Conduct large-scale internal and external training events with equipment, personnel, and clinical content management
  • Develops metrics to assess the effectiveness of educational programs and quickly implements changes to educational programs if needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in nursing, sonography, cardiovascular technology, or a related clinical field, or equivalent clinical experience.
  • A Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Experience in cardiovascular, electrophysiology, or structural heart procedures, including experience with ICE, TEE, TTE, and vascular ultrasound.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ingenuity and willingness to develop creative solutions to complex problems within defined constraints.
  • Affinity for educating others.
  • Understanding and expertise in the technical aspects and application of current and new products in the therapy area.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
  • Ability to apply the fundamental concepts and practices to conduct needs assessment and design training programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to simplify and explain complex topics effectively and experience in developing others.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Excellent computer and software skills (experience with Microsoft Office or Adobe Creative Cloud required) in graphics, word-processing, databases, authoring programs, etc., to develop presentation materials.
  • Multitasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Ability to travel approximately 70%, including internationally.

$86,700.00 - $173,300.00
