GIS Technician I/II
Salary Range: $58,801.60 - $101,108.80
Anticipated Hiring Range: $58,801.60 - $82,305.60

Job Summary:
Greenville Utilities Commission is seeking a well-qualified candidate to join our award-winning team as a GIS Technician. In this role, the GIS Technician will perform a variety of tasks related to Enterprise ESRI Geographic Information System (GIS) and Trimble CityWorks Work and Asset Management. Responsibilities include:
Developing and maintaining GIS data layers and project datasets; Supporting users with GIS and asset information; Collecting GPS data and generating proposed drawings, cartographic products, and tabular reports; Performing QA/QC on data using standard operating procedures and workflows; Creating and updating documentation for procedures and workflows; Assisting with the setup, configuration, and support of GIS and Work and Asset Management systems and interactive online applications; Importing GPS data points into the GIS system for map generation and updates.
Work Schedule:
Position requires on-site attendance; this is not a remote work position.
Work Schedule: M-F 8AM - 5PM
Minimum Requirements:
  • 4-year degree in GIS/Geography/IT or related field
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Thrives working in a team environment
  • Knowledgeable in the use of personal computers and standard office software
  • Knowledge of and experience in the use of ESRI ArcGIS and\or Trimble CityWorks
  • Valid NC Driver's License
  • Previous Utilities Experience preferred

GIS Technician I:
Anticipated Hiring Range: $58,801.60 - $76,211.20
  • 1-2 years' of demonstrated competency in the areas of managing, analyzing, editing, and visualizing GIS and related data
  • Preferred candidate will have the GIS Associate Certificate (ESRI) or equivalent certification from accredited technical institute

GIS Technician II:
Anticipated Hiring Range: $63,606.40 - $82,305.60
  • 3-5 years' increasingly responsible experience using GIS
  • GIS Associate Certificate (ESRI)
