Job description

Gray Hawk Land Solutions is currently hiring for the position of Right-of-Way Agent in the state of Indiana. The individual we are looking for must have their Indiana Real Estate License and Notary. This would be a part-time/ as needed hours determined by the project.
Qualifications and Responsibilities
  • Establishes and maintains good relationships with surface owners and local government officials and agencies.
  • Represents client and self with professionalism and integrity. Can relate to people from various backgrounds. Can diffuse tense situations quickly.
  • Negotiate terms for surface agreements, including surface use agreements, pipeline rights of way, and easements. Settle surface damages and ensure necessary access to company assets.
  • Thorough understanding of surface use agreements, easements, pipeline ROW, surface titles, and gov't laws/regulations related to Right of Way operations.
  • Able to conduct internal title research and external title research in the courthouse with no supervision.
  • Mapping software experience (GIS, Google Earth, ability to deed plot, ability to learn any client internal mapping systems).
  • Ability to interpret drawings and redline where needed (Alignment drawings, Certified Property Plats, Permit Drawings, Temporary Workspace Drawings, Construction Access Drawings).
  • Ability to navigate multiple client databases.
  • Ability to conduct online research.
  • Demonstrate excellent computer knowledge through effective use of software including Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel) and database use.
  • Able to work well in a team environment or an individual role.

Education/Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the Right-of-Way industry primarily dealing with negotiations of easements for pipelines.
Bachelor's Degree, Technical Diploma, or High School graduate.
