Job description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
High school Diploma or GED Certificate.
Associate's degree in Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, Geographic Information Systems or related field preferred.
ESRI Arc GIS Field Map and Survey 123 preferred.
1 year experience in the GIS field.
Valid state driver's license (subject to motor vehicle review).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
Performs GIS data collection and verification of assets including but not limited to Electric, Water, Wastewater, Gas, and Telecommunication utilities and infrastructure related to utilities.
Operates handheld data collection equipment including phones, tablets, surface pads, computers and supporting equipment.
Performs light GIS editing and manipulating of utility company's data.
Completes GIS data analysis and completes simple reports and requested by supervision.
Assists in office as needed.
Performs data collection and take accurate and clear mapping notes.
Inputs data from the field into engineering computer systems. Processes information as needed.
Accurately runs mapping instruments including total stations with data collectors, GPS equipment, and other conventional mapping equipment.
Prepares or assists with the preparation of scheduled and/or ad hoc statistical narrative reports; performs information gathering and analysis and/or forecasting, as specifically directed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
