GIS Administration & Application Development


Administer and maintain ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise/Server environments, GIS applications, services, databases, and related infrastructure.

Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot GIS applications, map services, feature services, and geospatial databases.

Perform GIS map digitization, data conversion, editing, quality control, and maintenance of spatial datasets.

Create and maintain accurate digital maps and GIS layers from engineering drawings, survey data, imagery, CAD files, and other source materials.

Configure, publish, manage, and optimize ArcGIS REST services, map services, feature services, and geoprocessing services.

Perform service tuning and performance optimization to improve GIS application response time, service availability, and system reliability.

Monitor GIS services and back-end processes to identify performance issues, errors, data inconsistencies, and application deficiencies.

Support back-end GIS databases, including database maintenance, data integration, SQL queries, spatial data management, and troubleshooting.

Develop and maintain GIS workflows using Python, SQL, JavaScript, and ESRI technologies.

Automate repetitive GIS administration, data-processing, and maintenance tasks using Python scripting.

Design and maintain GIS databases, feature classes, geodatabases, domains, subtypes, relationships, and other spatial data structures.

Troubleshoot GIS application, service, database, and connectivity issues and provide technical support to users.

Coordinate with City departments, technical teams, consultants, and vendors to gather requirements and implement GIS solutions.

Maintain GIS application architecture, configuration documentation, service documentation, data specifications, and technical procedures.

Apply appropriate GIS security, access control, backup, and data-protection procedures.

Monitor GIS infrastructure and application performance and recommend improvements to ensure reliable service delivery.

Provide GIS training and technical assistance to City staff on applications, editing workflows, mapping tools, and GIS data.

Participate in GIS projects from requirements gathering and design through development, testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance.

Provide after-hours/on-call support for critical GIS applications and services when required.
