Position Summary...As a Merchant [Seasonal Gifting], you will lead category strategy development and execution for a moderately complex portfolio, driving financial performance and supplier negotiations to meet business objectives. This role requires collaboration across channels to optimize assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies while leveraging data insights to enhance customer experience. You will collaborate with a high-performing cross functional team, ensuring alignment with company standards and category goals. Your creativity, curiosity, independence and self-motivation will drive continuous improvement, innovation, and compliance, contributing to Sam’s Club commitment to delivering value and excellence for members and stakeholders.
About the team:
The Merchant for Seasonal Gifting will lead strategy, omni assortment curation and financial management for designated product categories. The merchant role drives strong supplier collaboration, cost negotiations and assortment decisions to ensure gifting represents superior quality and premium brands at disruptive value. By leveraging industry insights and trends and fostering strong partnerships, the merchant supports seamless execution of merchandising plans and member-focused strategies.   • Develop and execute product category strategies aligned with long-term business objectives, analyzing market trends and customer behavior to inform decisions.
  • Manage profit and loss for assigned categories, overseeing pricing, promotions, and inventory to meet financial targets.
  • Lead supplier negotiations, establishing terms, performance metrics, and communication protocols to drive profitability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize channel strategies and enhance customer experience across all touchpoints.
  • Utilize data analytics to inform assortment, pricing, and replenishment decisions, supporting continuous improvement and innovation.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location).
