As a Staff Engineer - Power Generation (Turbines), you will serve as a senior technical authority in rotating equipment, driving strategy, performance optimization, and reliability across critical power generation assets. This role is designed for a recognized expert who thrives on solving complex challenges, influencing engineering direction, and advancing best-in-class turbine and generator practices.
You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, partnering with leadership and cross-functional teams to shape long-term engineering standards, improve system performance, and ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complex engineering initiatives including design, construction, upgrades, performance testing, and root cause analysis
  • Serve as SME for gas turbines, reciprocating engines, rotating equipment, and generator systems (5MW+), including controls technology
  • Perform advanced technical analysis across multi-OEM equipment, including vibration, transient loading, protection systems, and overall equipment health
  • Drive reliability, performance optimization, and lifecycle improvements across power generation assets
  • Lead technical and economic evaluations and influence project scope, design, and business outcomes
  • Develop and maintain engineering standards, specifications, and best practices with a focus on safety, compliance, and consistency
  • Interpret complex technical data and provide clear, actionable insights to leadership; deliver presentations that influence strategy and decisions
  • Identify industry, business, and regulatory trends; implement process, system, and technology improvements
  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute high-impact projects efficiently and safely
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement across engineering practices, technologies, and services

Education / Experience
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or Engineering Technology with P.E.)
  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in power generation, energy, or related industry
  • Deep expertise in rotating equipment and generator systems

Preferred
  • Master's degree (Mechanical or Electrical Engineering)
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA)
  • Experience leading large-scale projects or programs

Core Capabilities
  • Advanced knowledge of gas turbines, reciprocating engines, and generator controls
  • Strong expertise in equipment diagnostics and reliability (vibration, transient response, protection systems)
  • Proven ability to influence technical decisions and advise leadership
