Lutheran Counseling Services, PC, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team in Daytona Beach, Florida. This position operates within a primarily remote setting, allowing for flexibility in meeting the needs of our clients while maintaining a structured workweek from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly residents, identifying their specific psychological and emotional care needs.
• Deliver individualized and group counseling sessions tailored to address the unique emotional challenges seniors face, including grief from loss and navigating significant life transitions.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to formulate comprehensive care plans that align with both the clinical goals and the personal preferences of geriatric clients.
• Provide education to families and staff on enhancing the emotional well-being of elderly individuals, equipping them with effective strategies and resources.
• Facilitate grief counseling sessions for residents and their families, addressing the complexities surrounding end-of-life issues and emotional distress.
• Implement cognitive stimulation programs and appropriate mental health interventions designed to nurture mental acuity and emotional resilience in our elderly clientele.

The primary focus of this role is on elderly clients navigating the distinct psychological layers of aging. This includes addressing issues of loneliness, depression, anxiety, and cognitive decline, as well as systemic societal barriers that affect older adults’ mental health. The LMHC will be instrumental in advocating for resources and support systems that enhance the quality of life for this vulnerable population.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
• At least 4 years of recent, relevant experience in providing mental health support to geriatric clients.
• Special training or certifications in geriatric mental health, indicating a strong understanding of age-related psychological issues and effective interventions.

• Demonstrated experience offering counseling services to elderly individuals dealing with diverse mental health challenges.
• Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches and interventions tailored for older adults.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills conducive to forming meaningful connections with elderly clients.
• Empathy and cultural sensitivity to accommodate and support older adults from varied backgrounds.
• Proficient in performing detailed assessments and creating personalized treatment plans that align with client needs.
• Solid understanding of ethical and legal standards governing geriatric mental health counseling.

The salary for this role ranges from USD 65,000 to 95,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, new hires may be eligible for a sign-on bonus to support their integration into our team.
