The faculty of the Department of Women's and Gender Studies at the University of South Carolina, Columbia campus, invites applications for two 9-month, full-time, tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 16, 2026.
The successful candidate will produce high-quality, highly visible research and teach at a high level of performance, in addition to maintaining an active service portfolio. The standard teaching load is two courses per semester, including Introduction to Women's and Gender Studies and courses in the faculty member's area of expertise.

  • The position requires a PhD in women's and gender studies or a related field and research/teaching expertise in one or more of the following areas: global social movements; Latina/o, Asian American, and/or Indigenous activism in the USA; or girlhood studies.ย
