Job description

Strategic Support Solutions is seeking talented Avionics Garmin Installers to execute retrofits, full-suite installations, and integrations of state-of-the-art Garmin avionics systems (such as G1000NXi, G5000, and standard Garmin navigators) on general aviation and corporate aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, wire, and integrate Garmin avionics suites and associated flight deck components.
  • Build, route, and terminate complex electrical wiring harnesses, including coax cables, data buses, and shield terminations.
  • Modify instrument panels and console structural elements to accommodate new avionics equipment and displays.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and calibrate newly installed avionics systems, performing ramp testing and pitot-static system checks.
  • Troubleshoot existing avionics, electrical systems, and auto-flight systems.
  • Support legacy system integrations, with a heavy emphasis on Rockwell Collins Pro Line systems where applicable.
  • Maintain clean, precise, and compliant FAA paperwork for all modification and installation events.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum of 3โ€“5 years of avionics installation experience, specifically with general aviation and corporate aircraft.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience installing Garmin avionics systems (G1000, G3000, G5000, GTN series, etc.).
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals.
  • High skill level in wire harness fabrication, pin crimping, soldering, and wire routing.
  • Experience with Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 or Pro Line Fusion systems is a major plus.
  • Must provide own basic hand tools and specialized avionics tooling (e.g., wire strippers, crimpers).
