Job description

Job Title: Senior Data Scientist
Client: Linde
Job Type: Permanent
Work Location: Chicago IL (Onsite)
 
Must have strong Data experience.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Develop and maintain existing tools and KPIs of the EHC; support implementation in the field; stay abreast of new technology (including AI/ML and generative AI) and actively contribute ideas for new programs.
  • Collaborate with business partners and discipline experts (rotating, electrical, process, reliability) to understand requirements, prioritize use cases, and define appropriate technical solutions.
  • Lead technical development of advanced diagnostics, health analytics, and decision support tools—from data discovery/ETL through modeling, validation, and deployment.
  • Develop scalable data and analytics applications (e.g., MS-SQL/T-SQL, historian integrations, Tableau/Power BI) and create interactive dashboards and visualizations to communicate results.
  • Coordinate external data services and development with providers and conduct regular market research on remote monitoring and data analytics methods to continuously improve EHC efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Basic:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related field with a specialization in data science/analytics (degree must be from an accredited institution or equivalent)
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience developing analytics, predictive technologies, or decision support tools
  • Experience formulating and solving optimization, machine learning, forecasting, and/or statistical modeling problems (e.g., regression, segmentation, survival analysis, PCA, neural networks)
  • Strong programming skills in Python (and/or R) and proficiency with SQL (MS/T-SQL); ability to work with databases, stored procedures, and data quality/ETL concepts
  • Excellent communication and data storytelling skills; ability to succinctly convey complex solutions to stakeholders and executive leadership; willingness to travel domestically as needed
