Milestone Funeral Partners is seeking an experienced and compassionate Advance Planning Director to help individuals and families plan ahead with confidence and peace of mind. About the Role

As an Advance Planning Director, you'll serve as a trusted advisor, helping individuals and families make informed decisions about funeral, cremation, and memorial arrangements before they're needed. Leveraging your expertise as a Licensed Funeral Director and Licensed Life Insurance Producer, you'll educate families on their options and help ensure their wishes are thoughtfully planned and financially protected.

This role is ideal for a relationship-driven professional who enjoys educating families, building community connections, and making a meaningful impact through advance planning. You'll represent Milestone Funeral Partners by promoting the value of pre-planning while enjoying the flexibility to build your schedule and work from any of our Vermont funeral home locations.

Current and active state Funeral Director and Life Insurance Producer licensures are required. Regular travel throughout the assigned region (up to 50%) is expected.


What You'll Do

Family Care and Consultation

  • Assist families in selecting funeral, cremation, and memorialization options that meet their personal, cultural, and financial needs
  • Educate families on the benefits of advance planning and funding options in a compassionate and professional manner

Administrative and Compliance Duties

  • Complete all required documentation with accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Maintain accurate records, contracts, and client information in the company’s CRM system
  • Manage all paperwork related to insurance-funded prearrangements in accordance with applicable laws and company policy

Community Engagement and Outreach

  • Actively represent the funeral home at community events, senior groups, and civic organizations to promote advance planning education
  • Deliver professional and engaging presentations to small and large groups
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, clergy, and local organizations

Reporting and Communication

  • Provide regular updates to management on family interactions, sales performance, and community engagement activities
  • Gather and communicate client feedback to help improve service delivery and outreach efforts

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Active Funeral Director License in the state of employment
  • Active Life Insurance License or ability to obtain license within 60 days of hire
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle
  • Prior experience in advance planning or funeral service is preferred but not required
