Job description

Ascella supports the federal government by modernizing the technology used by major federal agencies. As a Technical Communications Associate, you will bridge the gap between complex engineering and clear storytelling, helping our team articulate sophisticated IT solutions in plain, compelling language. Your writing will directly influence how federal agencies understand our capabilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Solution Storytelling: You will work with technical experts to extract complex ideas and transform them into clear, well-structured content for federal proposals and technical reports.
  • Information Synthesis: You will quickly learn new technical concepts (such as cloud computing or data analytics) and translate them into readable prose that can be understood by both experts and general audiences.
  • Brand & Culture Support: You will help manage our corporate voice by drafting professional, engaging content for our website, social media, and internal newsletters to highlight our team’s successes.
Must-Have Skills (Required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, or a related field from an accredited college or university
  • Proven ability to produce clean, grammatically correct, and structured prose under tight deadlines (e.g., through a portfolio, university publication, or professional business writing)
  • A natural interest in technology and a demonstrated ability to quickly grasp and explain new, unfamiliar concepts through research
  • Comfort interviewing subject matter experts (like developers or project managers) to pull out key details and turn raw notes into a cohesive story
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a disciplined approach to proofreading and formatting documents to ensure high-quality final products
