Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to support early-phase activities (concept, requirements, and design) within the Systems-Engineering Development Lifecycle for the C2BMC program. In this role, you will lead system concept development, requirements decomposition, interface definition, and model-based engineering efforts while working closely with internal teams, customers, and Agile development partners. This position is 100% in-office.
What You'll Experience
  • Leading the development of new system concepts by transforming stakeholder needs into clear, reviewable technical approaches.
  • Eliciting and decomposing requirements using behavioral artifacts such as use cases, activity diagrams, and sequence diagrams.
  • Developing logical and physical system models using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and practices.
  • Leading development of system interfaces, including creation and refinement of ICDs and IDDs down to message-level detail.
  • Supporting internal and customer technical reviews, including formal and informal engineering assessments.
  • Reviewing and critiquing interface documents, system requirements, verification documentation, architecture products, and engineering estimates.
  • Coordinating with MDA stakeholders and working-level counterparts.
  • Participating in Agile development activities including iteration planning, backlog refinement, and status reporting.
  • Operating within an Agile Scrum team under the direction of a Team Lead and Regional Systems Engineering Manager.

What You Bring to the Table
  • Advanced degree with 3+ years of experience, or bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience, or equivalent background.
  • Broad application of systems engineering principles with the ability to solve complex problems through creative and thorough solutions.
  • Experience working under general direction with accountability for meeting objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with internal and external customers to develop and refine technical solutions.
  • Strong background in Systems Engineering and architecture, ideally with test experience.
  • Ability to produce high-quality results on tasks where failure can result in program delays or significant cost impacts.
  • Active TOP SECRET clearance or higher.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site in a closed environment; some travel required.

What Sets You Apart
  • Experience working across the full Systems-Engineering Development Lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated strength in concept development and requirements decomposition.
  • Experience with Missile Defense System components or Space Defense / Space Domain Awareness missions.
  • Background supporting command and control systems with advanced networking architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo.
  • Ability to support short-notice or high-priority tasks without loss of efficiency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical content and receive critical feedback.
