What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Full Time Shooting Coach, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Time Shooting Coach, you need in-depth knowledge of shooting techniques, safety protocols, and often certifications from recognized coaching or firearms organizations. Familiarity with various firearms, training aids, video analysis tools, and range management systems is typically required. Strong communication, motivational ability, and patience are essential soft skills for instructing individuals of varying skill levels. These skills and qualities are vital to ensure effective instruction, athlete development, and a safe training environment.

What are full time shooting coaches?

Full time shooting coaches are professionals who specialize in teaching and improving an athlete’s shooting skills, typically in sports like basketball, soccer, or hockey. They work closely with players to analyze shooting techniques, develop personalized training programs, and provide ongoing feedback to maximize performance. These coaches often work with teams, individual athletes, or at training facilities, dedicating their full working hours to the development of shooting abilities. Their expertise helps players at all levels—from beginners to professionals—achieve greater accuracy, consistency, and confidence in their shooting.

Full Time Shooting Coaches often work with athletes who have a wide range of abilities, which can make it challenging to tailor training sessions that address both fundamental skills and advanced techniques. Balancing group instruction with individualized feedback is crucial, as each player may require a different approach to improve their shooting form and consistency. Additionally, coaches must continuously adapt drills and motivational strategies to keep athletes engaged and progressing, while also collaborating closely with other coaching staff to ensure player development aligns with the team's overall goals.

This position is responsible for safeguarding company assets, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring all firearm and operational compliance standards are executed without exception.

  • Set and maintain retail pricing standards to protect margin and profitability.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy, accountability, and shrink prevention.
  • Manage replenishment requests and coordinate purchasing activity.
  • Conduct weekly audits to confirm compliance, safety, and financial accuracy.
  • Maintain strong compliance with ATF, OSHA, and internal safety standards.
  • Ensure accurate completion of firearm transactions, including FFL transfers and ATF Form 4473s.
  • Train, coach, and hold associates accountable for inventory control and compliance standards.
  • Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed, supporting the overall operation and guest experience
What Success Looks Like
  • Inventory is accurate, compliant, and well-managed.
  • Pricing discipline supports gross profit goals.
  • Compliance inspections produce strong results.
  • Shrink, loss, and errors are minimized.
  • Audits are completed consistently and accurately.
  • Operational controls support strong retail and membership performance.
Who You Are
  • Experienced in inventory management, purchasing, or operations.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a disciplined, process-driven mindset.
  • Knowledgeable in firearms compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Comfortable enforcing standards and holding others accountable.
  • Organized, analytical, and proactive in risk management.
  • Able to lead operational teams while supporting floor execution.
  • Passionate about creating great customer experiences while driving results.
Compensation amp; Benefits
  • Annual salary range: $50,000–$60,000, depending on experience and performance.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Employee discounts on retail, training, and range services.
  • Career advancement opportunities within a growing organization.
  • Performance-based incentives and recognition.
