TITLE:High School Assistant Trap Coach
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Camdenton R-III School District is seeking an associate coach to assist with all aspects of the Trap Team to enforce strict firearm safety protocols, instructing athletes on shooting fundamentals, and managing range operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must meet MSHSAA Coaching Requirements 3.1.5.
  • Pass all background checks and screenings.
  • Previous competitive or target shooting coaching experience is preferred
  • Ability to be employed as a High School teacher or support staff position preferred.

REPORTS TO: Head Trap Coach
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Board Policy for Staff Conduct
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Enforce all firearm safety rules, range regulations. This includes the safe handling, storage and transport of firearms and ammunition.
  • Assist with teaching stance, shoulder mounting, and "mind-eye" coordination.
  • Foster an environment of accountability, work ethics, sportsmanship and teamwork.
  • Coordinate practices, maintain equipment, and ensure trap houses are stocked with targets.
  • Ensure the physical safety of all student-athletes, including adhering to medical protocols and ensuring required paperwork is completed.
  • Maintain open, professional communication with athletes, parents, school administration, and athletic directors.
  • Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the MSHSAA by-laws.

Additional Duties:
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the High School Athletic Director, or Central Office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

  • Teaching position contingent on availability and appropriate DESE certification.
