MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT:
As a ServiceNow Software Engineer, the work youll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of USCENTCOM. You will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and optimization of our ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering scalable and upgrade-safe solutions. This role requires a strategic thinker who can align the platform with business objectives while ensuring system stability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Platform Architecture and Design: Develop and maintain the overall architecture of the ServiceNow platform, ensuring alignment with business needs and industry best practices.
  • System Maintenance and Upgrades: Oversee system maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements, ensuring minimal disruption and optimal performance.
  • Workflow Development: Design and implement workflows, business rules, client scripts, and UI policies to automate processes and improve efficiency.
  • Integrations: Lead the design and implementation of integrations with external systems using REST, SOAP, LDAP, SSO, and other protocols.
  • ITOM and ITAM Implementation: Configure and support ITOM and ITAM modules, including discovery, service mapping, asset management, and event management.
  • SPM/PPM Expertise: Configure and maintain Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) modules, including Demand, Project, Portfolio, and Resource Management, with a focus on Agile methodologies.
  • Database Management: Manage MariaDB installation, optimization, indexing, and coding to support platform performance.
  • Security and Compliance: Configure and maintain system ACLs, certificates, and security protocols, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
  • Monitoring and Risk Management: Monitor system stability, conduct risk assessments, and implement measures to prevent service degradation or interruptions.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reports to provide visibility into portfolio performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Documentation and Governance: Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and governance standards for the platform.


WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The ServiceNow Software Engineer must have:

  • Education: Bachelors degree with focus in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Certifications: Applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 Certification (i.e., CompTIA Security + CE certification)
  • Experience: 10+ years of related experience in ServiceNow
  • Technical skills:
    • Proven work experience with the ServiceNow platform in a software development and systems architecture environment.
    • Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, and ServiceNow software development tools.
    • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and automated testing frameworks.
    • Strong understanding of system security, ACLs, and certificate management.
    • Proven experience with on-premises ServiceNow deployments and server administration (Windows/Linux).
    • Expertise in ITOM, ITAM, and SPM modules.
    • Strong knowledge of integration protocols (REST, SOAP, LDAP, SSO).
    • Experience with database management (MariaDB preferred).
  • Required security clearance level: Must have a current/active Secret clearance and TS/SCI eligibility is preferred.
  • US citizenship required due to the Secret clearance requirement
  • This position requires working onsite at the client location 5 days a week initially. A hybrid work schedule of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote may be available after the initial period, based on project needs and client requirements.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $161,500 - $218,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
