Position Overview
ASI is seeking a Senior Security Specialist to support classified Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) and enterprise defense activities within a senior Department of War headquarters environment. This role provides security administration, compliance support, and program security expertise across SCI/SAP environments.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience supporting sensitive defense programs, understands classified security operations at the headquarters level, and can coordinate effectively with Government security offices, technical teams, and senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and oversee security policies, procedures, and compliance activities for classified defense programs.
  • Support SCI/SAP security administration, access control, and personnel security processes.
  • Assist with implementation of Department of War security requirements, including NISPOM and applicable special access security procedures.
  • Coordinate with Government security offices, program personnel, and external stakeholders.
  • Support secure execution of meetings, briefings, working groups, and classified planning activities.
  • Maintain security documentation, records, visit requests, access rosters, and compliance materials.
  • Identify and help resolve security issues impacting mission execution.
  • Support security inspections, reviews, and corrective action tracking.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in Department of War or defense security administration.
  • At least 3 years of experience supporting SCI and/or SAP environments.
  • Experience with:
    • NISPOM
    • Personnel security
    • Physical security
    • Information security
    • Classified handling procedures
  • Ability to operate effectively in senior headquarters or enterprise-level defense environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Active TS//SCI clearance required; SAP eligibility required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience supporting:
    • Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD)
    • Missile defense
    • Air defense
    • Other classified operational defense mission areas
  • Experience coordinating with Government security offices in a headquarters-level environment.
