Position Description & Requirements
POSITION SUMMARY
RP Valley is seeking a full-time Radiology Practitioner Assistant (RPA) who will assist our radiologists in the management of patients for the hospitals and outpatient clinics. The RPA is responsible for participation in departmental and hospital programs for quality assessment and improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with Radiology Partners goals.
  • Be proficient with fluoroscopic (static or dynamic) and invasive procedures, such as, GI, GU, HSG, arthrograms, steroid joint injections / aspirations, assist or perform intravenous contrast injections and other contrast agents used in Radiology under the supervision of a radiologist, as well as closely monitoring patients for adverse reactions.
  • Thoracentesis', paracentesis', lumbar punctures, myelograms, joint injections (shoulders, hips, iliopsoas, sacroiliac, wrists, ankles, elbows, knees), hysterosalpingogram, thyroid biopsies, ultrasound guided IV placement, and joint aspirations.
  • Catheter placement.
  • Image screening and evaluation.
  • Must be able to closely follow physician instructions and obtain optimal images for diagnosis.
  • Reviews Images and provide feedback of the studies performed in the form of a technical report to assist the radiologist in the interpretation of specified studies
  • Must be willing to learn new technology when applicable.
  • Serve as a pathway to facilitating and mentoring continuing education to technologists as needed within their scope of practice.
  • Ability to assist management with quality control tasks and/or administration of daily site schedules.
  • Must be able to communicate calmly, compassionately, and professionally with all different types of patients exercising excellent customer service skills.
  • The ability to work effectively with other employees and maintain a cooperative working relationship intra-departmentally and inter-departmentally
  • Scope of practice will be driven by the needs of the Radiology department as determined by the radiologists and accordance with state and/or federal laws.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary.

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Current Radiology Practitioner Assistant (RPA) certification from CBRPA or RRA certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification required.
  • CPR/BLS required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificate required.
  • Current AZ MRTBE State license
  • BLS AND ACLS certification required

COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this position is $135,000-$150,000. Final determinations may vary based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, geographic location etc. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
