Shift: Shift 1/7:00:00 AM to 3:30:00 PM / No Weekends
Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate: $20.50 - $24.09 / hour
Summary
The Interventional Radiology Scheduler is responsible for all aspects of scheduling interventional radiology procedures from the initial call for consultation, obtaining pre-authorization for procedures, and scheduling while providing exceptional customer experience. This position is very often the first point of contact with Lee Health for information and the scheduling of appointments. Therefore, it requires excellent verbal and customer service skills. Coordination of the radiologist's schedule and availabilities ensuring no timing conflicts occur across modalities. Responsibilities include obtaining insurance authorizations, communicating with radiologists via secure messaging, verifying patient information, and coordinating complex imaging procedures. Handles a variety of incoming customer inquiries or requests and uses appropriate resources to provide complete, accurate responses. Expert understanding of all modalities, invasive radiology procedures, and diagnosis related scheduling procedures. Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and possess the ability to prioritize, be extremely detailed, organized and flexible. The ideal candidate has strong organizational and computer skills, a solid understanding of medical terminology, and experience working with insurance verification and prior authorizations in a healthcare setting.
Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
Certification: N/A
License: N/A
Other: Understanding of Medical terminology desired. Knowledge and understanding of telephone etiquette including strong listening skills are essential. Excellent customer service, including verbal and written communication skills are required. Data entry and good computer skills are required, including knowledge of Microsoft Office. Bilingual and proficiency in EPIC and PACs preferred.
