We have an opportunity with OrthoCarolina for a Part-Time Radiology Technologist for our Huntersville Urgent Care office location. The schedule for this position is: Monday and Friday evenings 5:30PM - 9:00PM.

TheRadiology Technologistwill provide diagnostic quality radiographs for physicians and/or physician assistants while protecting employees and patients from unnecessary radiation and usage ofappropriate protectionstandards.

Essential Functions:

  • Demonstrates competency in positioning of all radiological proceduresas prescribed bydepartmental policy.

  • Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of patients'understandingand address any questions or concerns.

  • Positionspatients and selects exposure factors for various radiologic examinations and providespatientswith radiation protection and safetyin accordance withprescribed methods.

  • Logsradiological procedures completed,processescharges and related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.

  • Maintains cleanliness of examination rooms andstocksnecessary medical and/or radiological supplies in the department. Compliance with allOrthoCarolinapolicyand procedures.

  • Assistswith the transportation of patients between the examination module(s) and the Radiology department.Assistwith patient flow in the examination module(s) as directed by a supervisor.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability tooperatevarious manufacturer types of Radiology suite equipment, (i.e.Siemens/GE/Philips).

  • Skill in proficient use of various manufacturer types of Digital Radiology (DR) and Computer Radiology (CR) reader systems.

  • Skill inidentifyingequipment problems and correcting or notifyingsupervisor.

  • Skill in positioning patients properly and performing quality diagnostic radiographs.

  • Observes safety and security procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Medical Association.

  • Minimum of one year experience as an x-ray tech with an orthopedic background.

  • Professional license or certification requirements:

  • Registered Radiology Tech by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART) or ARRT registry eligible.

  • Current CPR certificationrecommended.
