Make a Difference Every Day

Village Extended Day is seeking an experienced, dependable, and enthusiastic Program Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Extended Day Program. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys working with children, supporting staff, and creating a safe, engaging, and positive after-school environment.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, organized, comfortable with technology, and passionate about youth development. This role is responsible for supporting staff, maintaining program quality, building relationships with families and school partners, and ensuring children have a fun and enriching experience.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the Extended Day Program.
  • Supervise, train, mentor, and support program staff.
  • Create and maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for children.
  • Plan and support engaging, age-appropriate activities.
  • Communicate professionally with families, staff, and school personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records and required documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with childcare regulations and company policies.
  • Learn and utilize childcare management software and technology systems.
  • Support program scheduling, supplies, and daily operational needs.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in after-school, extended day, childcare, youth development, or a related field.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, coaching, or training staff.
  • CDA Credential preferred, or willingness to obtain within 12 months of hire. Company-sponsored CDA support is available for eligible employees.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including professional email communication.
  • Computer literate with the ability to learn industry-specific software applications.
  • Strong organization, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must successfully pass required background screening.

 

Compensation & Growth

  • Starting pay: $22.00–$25.00/hour, negotiable based on experience and qualifications (DOE).
  • Performance-based compensation reviews at 90 days, 6 months, and annually.
