Key Responsibilities
  • Direct physical therapy treatment to prevent disabilities, relieve pain, and restore function based on individualized care plans.
  • Oversee Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring alignment with prescribed treatment protocols.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations using diagnostic tests to assess patients' functional capabilities.
  • Assess patients' home environments and make recommendations to enhance their independence.
  • Administer therapeutic exercises and treatments, including manual therapy and functional activities.
  • Evaluate, fit, and recommend adjustments for prosthetic and orthotic devices in collaboration with healthcare providers.
  • Document clinical records including evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to review and update patient care plans based on ongoing evaluations.
  • Conduct case conferences and contribute insights regarding patient treatment and recovery strategies.
  • Advocate for patients and provide educational resources to them and their families regarding therapy techniques and device usage.
  • Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and instruct them in effective therapy techniques as required by state regulations.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The focus of this role is on a diverse outpatient population, including patients recovering from surgery, injuries, or chronic conditions who seek to regain independence and functional mobility. You will engage with patients of all ages, designing tailored treatment programs that acknowledge their individual challenges and goals.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required.
  • Possession of an active Physical Therapist license in the State of Florida.
  • No history of sanctions or disciplinary actions against your physical therapy license.
  • Expertise in manual therapy techniques and a strong ability to implement effective exercise programs.
  • Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, particularly Web PT, for precise documentation.
  • Commitment to staying current with evidence-based physical therapy practices and modalities.
