Job description

Applied Research Solutions is seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Equipment Specialist to support the modernization of Hawaii's Air Route Surveillance Radar (ARSR 4) a system critical to national defense, air traffic control, and weather monitoring. You’ll help replace and sustain one of the most important long range radar capabilities supporting NORAD/NORTHCOM and Pacific operations.

 Responsibilities Include:

In this role you will provide Equipment Specialist support that will provide CM activities and apply logistics best commercial practices and DoD directed concepts such as Performance-Based Logistics (PBL), public private partnering, and supply chain management. Perform configuration management tasks and apply the principles, criteria, and procedures of CM in support of systems and equipment acquired or sustained.  

Duties include, but not limited to:

Technical Order & Configuration Support 

  • Maintain and update technical orders (T.O.s, TCTOs) for multiple systems
  • Perform TO validation/verification and support ETIMS sustainment
  • Support Time Compliance Technical Orders and configuration baselines
  • Help develop technical drawing packages and system documentation

Troubleshooting & Sustainment

  • Assist field units with technical issues, maintenance guidance, and problem resolution
  • Address obsolescence issues and help identify suitable part replacements
  • Provide technical input for discrepancy reports and sustainment actions

Supply Chain & Logistics Integration

  • Log new items into the supply system and update existing item data
  • Interface with external organizations including DLA, FAA, sister services, and engineering support agencies
  • Monitor modification parts, NSNs, provisioning lists, and contractor-supported systems

Program & Engineering Support

  • Participate in Agile/Waterfall development activities
  • Support CCB/ERB decisions and implementation of engineering changes
  • Take part in audits (FCA/PCA/Compliance) and help track action items
  • Access systems like IMDS and REMIS to support OSS&E reporting
  • Other duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Must be a US citizen 
    • Active Secret Clearance
    • Bachelor's Degree in related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, 5 of which must be in the DoD OR
      • 15 years of directly related experience, 8 of which must be in the DoD

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Education: Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a related field and at least 10 years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, 5 years of which must be in the DoD

    Technical Skills

    • Highly Desired Radar experience
    • Strong technical background with NAVAID systems or similar avionics / radar environments
    • Experience developing, updating, and sustaining technical orders (TOs, TCTOs)
    • Understanding of supply chain management and provisioning processes
    • Ability to collaborate with external stakeholders (DLA, FAA, DoD agencies)
    • Handson support experience in a sustaining engineering or logistics environment
    • SharePoint, Office 365
    • ETIMS (Electronic Technical Information Management System)
    • USAF logistics and deficiency reporting systems
    • IMDS, REMIS, and other sustainment/maintenance systems
