KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Sales and Customer Experience
  • Be the reason customers keep coming back. Deliver personalized, high-energy experiences that connect people with the right gear for their goals, budget, and creative journey.
  • Drive sales through expertise, authenticity, follow through and a genuine passion for music and technology.
  • Build a loyal community of musicians, producers, educators, and creators through meaningful relationships and exceptional service.
  • Own the customer journey from first conversation to post-purchase support.
Product Demonstration and Education
  • Deliver hands-on demos across Roland's lineup of digital pianos, synths, electronic drums, guitar products, and pro audio/video solutions.
  • Translate technical features into real life benefits, helping musicians understand what the gear can do for their music, workflow and creative goals.
  • Stay current on new product launches, firmware updates and industry trends so you're always the expert people trust for insight and advice.
In-Store Experience and Merchandising
  • Keep the showroom looking premium, ensuring every display is engaging, functional and inspiring.
  • Help bring the store to life through supporting artist demonstrations, product launches, workshops, and hands-on experience that build excitement and community.
  • Create an environment where all musicians, producers, creators and fans feel welcome, energized and eager to explore what is possible
Reporting and Operations
  • Capture customer interactions, track lead opportunities, and follow-ups in CRM tools to ensure no connection falls through the cracks.
  • Regularly provide insights from the floor to management, including customer feedback, product trends and competitive observations that help shape the business.
  • Collaborate with store team colleagues to deliver a seamless, consistent and exceptional customer experience.
WHAT IT TAKES TO CRUSH IT!

Experience and Background

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in retail sales, music retail or a related customer-facing role
  • Demonstrated knowledge of musical instruments and music technology, particularly within the company's product ecosystem
  • Experience as a musician, producer, DJ, sound engineer and/or music educator is strongly preferred
  • There is a strong desire for candidates to be familiar with New York's music scene and culture, as authenticity and the ability to communicate effectively with local musicians are essential for success in the store.
Skills and Attributes
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage customers across a wide range of experience levels
  • Consultative customer-first approach to sales with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets
  • Strong product demonstration skills and the confidence to perform in a live retail environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team while also taking individual ownership of results
  • Organized, reliable and detail-oriented with strong time-management skills
  • Comfortable using CRM systems and digital reporting tools
  • Access to a reliable smart device for reporting and communication
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the store for extended periods in a fast-paced environment
  • Frequently performs physical tasks including bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and safely climbing ladders or step stools
  • Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling merchandise and equipment up to 50 lbs (with or without assistance)
  • Uses manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate POS systems, handheld devices, and read labels, screens, and store materials
  • Navigates crowded sales floors/stockrooms and moves carts, racks, and equipment as needed
