Job description

Bach To Rock ("B2R") America's Music School for students of all ages is currently seeking a Music Teacher to work as a part-time seasonal employee providing music and performance lessons to students in a Summer Camp format. Multi-instrumentalists are preferred.
Summer Camp Music Teachers at Bach to Rock use B2R camp curriculum to provide students of all ages an engaging and well-balanced music education in half-day or full-day camp options. By teaching theory and technique using music that students know and love, B2R teachers develop musicians who enjoy performing, recording in our studio, and even composing original music in record time!
Position Responsibilities:
  • Teach Summer Camps using Bach to Rock camp curriculum and cover song arrangements
  • Create an encouraging, fun, and focused lesson atmosphere in your Summer Camp
  • Assess a student's readiness to take private lessons of their own
  • Assist with student supervision and transporting them to / from the lobby and practice rooms
  • May be asked to do additional small administrative tasks as needed for the role
  • Main camp types:
    • Rock City (ages 4-7)
    • Glee & Rock Band (ages 7+)
    • DJ (ages 10+)

  • Camp Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 9am - 4pm
    • Half-day camps available
    • AM sessions = 9am - 12:30pm
    • PM sessions = 12:30pm - 4pm
  • Camp Season: June thru August

Requirements:
  • Must demonstrate an understanding of music concepts and be able to communicate those concepts effectively to students
  • Must feel confident in being able to manage a room full of children and keep their attention
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to keep the camp on-time
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of personalities
  • Experienced performer (either solo or group) helps, but is not required for this role
  • Experience working with youth and/or beginning musicians
  • Ability to interact effectively with children and adults
  • Ability to pass a background check through ADP

Details:
Compensation begins at $18/hr
  • We are looking for someone who can offer at least 3 days a week during the camp times
  • We are looking for someone who may want to stay on after the Summer camp season ends (not a requirement)
  • Cannot teach at another music lessons facility within 5 miles of our location

Bach to Rock offers the opportunity to work a flexible part time schedule in a fun environment with other like-minded musicians. We handle the marketing, scheduling, booking, billing and other business aspects of the lessons & group classes so that you can focus on teaching. Summer is a great time to try out working at a school like ours. Seasonal positions have the ability to stay on after the Summer ends, based on availability and instrument demand.
B2R offers an hourly pay rate that is based on education, experience, expertise, and availability. This is reviewed over time and based on performance.
