About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Intern to join our on-site team at our TIO2 processing plant in Hamilton, MS. This is a hands-on internship designed for individuals looking to build practical experience in a fast-paced industrial IT environment. Working alongside experienced IT professionals, the intern will provide day-to-day technical support, maintain hardware across the site, and help ensure the accuracy of our IT ticketing system.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Set up, configure, and deploy desktop computers, laptops, monitors, printers, and peripherals for end users across the site.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware faults, arranging repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on IT equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Support the installation and replacement of hardware components (RAM, hard drives, peripherals, etc.).
  • Liaise with vendors and suppliers regarding warranty repairs and equipment returns.
  • Assist in setting up workstations for new starters, relocations, and temporary users on the shop floor.
  • Ensure all work is fully documented in the IT ticketing system (Jira).
  • Consistently demonstrate Tronox Core Values

About You

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree or qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required.
  • Previous experience in a technical support, helpdesk, or IT administration role (even informal or voluntary) preferred.
  • Solid foundational understanding of PC hardware components and how they work.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A willingness to work on-site in an active manufacturing environment and follow all safety training procedures.
  • Clear and professional communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Excellent customer services skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Familiarity with asset management tools or ticketing systems.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, or similarly structured environment preferred.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be clean-shaven in areas where facial hair would interfere with the proper fit and seal of a respirator. This includes no beards, goatees, mustaches that extend below the top lip or excessive sideburns.
  • Occasionally ascending or descending stairs and moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks.
  • Occasional prolonged periods of remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Constantly walking long distances from one worksite to another.
  • Occasionally lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions
